Description For sale are two White Dogwood trees that are 2-3 feet tall and shipped bareroot. ----- USDA ZONE 5-9 ------ Cornus florida, the flowering dogwood, is a species of flowering tree in the family Cornaceae native to eastern North America and northern Mexico. An endemic population once spanned from southernmost coastal Maine south to northern Florida and west to the Mississippi River. The tree is commonly planted as an ornamental in residential and public areas because of its showy bracts and interesting bark structure. ------ Size 30-40' in height with an equal spread at maturity. ------ A shrub or low branching tree with spreading horizontal lines, layered effect, usually with a flat topped crown, often wider than high. ------ Very unique. ------- Rate-slow, upon transplanting, usually assuming a medium rate. ------ The flowers are beautiful white 1/4" across in a crowded 1/2" wide head, showy parts of inflorescences are the 4 white bracts about 2" long. ------ Effective for about 10-14 days depending on the weather.
