Maryland leaders shared mixed reactions to the U.S. Supreme Court ruling in favor of a group of parents on school lessons that include books about sexual orientation and gender identity.

A United States Supreme Court hearing Tuesday heard arguments over LGBTQ books in schools and some parents' demands for an opt-out option.

Taylor is a case coming out of Montgomery County Public Schools in Maryland. In 2022, the school district approved reading materials exploring themes of gender identity and sexuality.
