Darcy Deefholts was discovered by rescuers on the morning of Thursday, July 10, on an uninhabited island off the coast of Wooli in New South Wales, Australia

A teenage surfer who was feared lost at sea has been rescued after he spent the night on an uninhabited island. The 19-year-old has been named locally as Darcy Deefholts who had gone for a surf off a beach in the coastal town of Wooli — situated 480km north of Sydney.

About 18 hours after going for an afternoon surf, a teenager has been found alive on a remote island more than 10 kilometres offshore.
