A wildfire broke out Sunday afternoon in the Northern California town of Clearlake, triggering evacuations and threatening homes, officials said. The blaze, called the Boyles Fire, was first reported at 2:14 p.

Cal Fire said mandatory evacuations were in place in Clearlake zones E148 and E157, areas of homes east of Highway 53 near the southeastern shore of Clear Lake. Several businesses, including a Walmart several yards north of the fire, have also been evacuated.
