The suspect in Monday night's double homicide in Santa Fe told police he shot both people in self-defense. Manuel Martinez, 23, of Santa Fe is charged with two open counts of murder and two counts of resisting and obstructing an officer and one count of tampering with evidence in the deaths of Ebony Martinez, 23, and Abraham Romo, 19.

Police say they believe the man who died in Santa Fe Springs on Wednesday night, Oct. 2, was a hit-and-run victim. Officers went to the 9900 block of Cedardale Drive around 9 p.m. on a report of a man lying in the driveway entrance to the San Gabriel river trail, said Officer Emily Armstrong, a spokeswoman for Whittier police.

The Santa Fe Police Department has a suspect in custody after two bodies were found in the area of Siringo Rd. and Camino Consuelo around 11:30 p.m. Monday night. SFPD says officers were called to the area for a report of people under the bridge being loud.
