U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene plans to go ahead to try and force a vote to oust House Speaker Mike Johnson at some point next week, accusing the speaker of "betraying" his conservative principles.

Greene’s statement comes only one day after House Minority Speaker Hakeem Jeffries and top Democratic leadership announced their intention to protect Johnson from the “Pro-Putin” faction of the GOP which threatened to oust him. Despite this, the MAGA Republican has decided to forge ahead with her antics to prevent Congress from functioning.

Marjorie Taylor Greene said she would call a vote to oust House Speaker Mike Johnson next week, moving forward with the long-shot effort after more than a month of holding the threat over the leader’s head.
