Russians are increasingly using ballistic missiles to fire at Ukraine from temporarily occupied Crimea, said Dmytro Pletenchuk, head of Joint Coordination Press Center of Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine,

Moscow has fired a range of existing and newly-developed missiles at Ukraine, including its Kalibr, Kh-69 and Zircon missiles.

Ukraine is using recently acquired and U.S.-made and supplied mobile surface-to-surface missile systems to target Russian military assets in the occupied Crimean peninsula, the Kremlin said Saturday.

In a post on Telegram, the Kremlin's Defense Ministry said four ATACMS missiles provided to Ukraine by the U.S. were intercepted overnight by "air defense systems on duty." It did not say if falling debris had caused any damage.

"Our air defense systems destroyed four operational-tactical missiles over the territory of the Crimean Peninsula," the ministry claimed. There is no confirmation of this claim. Recent strikes on Crimea Ukraine struck a Russian military airfield in Dzhankoy early in the morning on April 30.
